My hubby and I own 3.5 acres in NC. We are just getting started out on our homesteading journey. I look forward to getting to know this community ty!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had my flock for about 6 months . I am definitely a newbie but I am learning quickly.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?I have 12 chicks in the brooder as well as 3 Pekin ducklings. I also have 15 hens and 7 roosters soon to be less hopefully. I have two kakai Campbell ducks male 6mo old and 1 adult Pekin male duck
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have many different breeds like 6-8 if not more different kinds so I'll name a few for now . Barred rock , shapphire splash,sex link ,road Island red,
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They have alot of personality and character and the eggs make the difference when baking
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Raising ducks . Learning new homesteading skills to put to use.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We love animals here and enjoy raising and caring for all kinds animals we enjoy the simple things in life and love to share what we know with the the next person.
