Australorps and RIR are great chickens, hardy, good layers and they have nice temperaments as well. You'll enjoy them.

Thank you all for the greetings. I can't believe it's only been a month since joining. Last weekend we finished painting our newly constructed chicken coop (about 80% reused materials). Then, yesterday, I purchased 4 pullets from a member I met in the Middle TN thread.

Not 30 minutes after getting home, we had our first egg!

Learning on BYC definitely made it easy for me to gather good information.
