I joined this site because I am going to get some bantams next spring. I used to live on 7 acres in Westminster Vermont, and had 30 to 40 chickens along with goats, a cow, dogs and varying other critters. With just a small yard now in a town which JUST approved backyard chickens, I have things I need to know! Most important, of course, is getting a decent little coop.

Thanks for having this site, it looks great.

Glad you could join the flock! That's great news that chickens have been allowed now in your area :clap I'm sure you will enjoy keeping chickens again, it must have been so quiet for you moving to a town with only a small yard.

Check out the coops section - for all sizes, shapes and styles - something will be just what you need. For a small flock you may just want a chicken tractor, that you move around every couple days or so, so damage to grass is minimal. Lots of folks build from repurposed materials. Welcome to BYC.
