(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We’ve had our flock for about 3 years now with a help from more knowledgeable friends, but I still feel like very much a novice
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 11
(3) What breeds do you have? it’s a barnyard mix
some Rhode Island Reds, a white Brahma, 3 Americanas, and few others
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? we do enjoy our fresh eggs, love seeing new chicks hatch, and teaching my kids to take care of animals
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? not really a hobby but takes most of my time -raising and homeschooling my kids
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a stay at home mom and homeschool teacher. My oldest is 14, youngest is 6 months
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve read BYC on and off for a couple of years, since we got chickens and found answers to many of my questions without posting them Now I hope to find help for another one I can’t figure out on my own
