I am located in New England. I currently have 5 hens, 2 barred rocks and 3 black astralorps. I have six chicks on the way. We have had them for just under a year now. I love the big bodied breeds that lay large eggs.
We love our crazy girls. When we are outside we let them free range. We have a very secure coop my husband built that we call the chicken vault. They have a nice and shady run, secure with netting over the top. We are learning more and more as we go along.
Our girls never stopped laying over the winter months. Our eggs are beautiful!
