Hi Folks! We are long time followers of BYC. Last year we finally moved to a place where we could have chickens and began our flock last June. We have 7 Amerucanas, 3 Blue Austalorps, 2 Delawares, 1 Buff Orpington and 1 Andalusian. Two of the Amerucanas are roosters. Two of the Australorps turned broody which also gave an Amerucana and the Buff the idea that they ought to try it too. We ended up with the Amerucana as mama hen to four chicks. (Chicks are a week old - 2 Amerucanas, 1 Australorp x Amerucana, and 1 Buff x Amerucana.) So by chicken math we are now up to 18. We are all enjoying watching mama raising her babies!
