Hello from Vineland, NJ.
We are staying at Melissa's (my wife's) aunt's house and her aunt decided we were going to raise chickens.
They came in Sunday.
It has been interesting so far. I am trying hard to learn as much as I can.
There were 27 chicks that came in. One died last night. (Pecked to death.) She was not doing well to begin with so I think that the others decided to finish her off.
They kept us up to 02:00 last night since a Rhode Island Red was injured (we think by one of our children, who are not allowed to handle them anymore for a while) and has been feeling fairly violent lately. Also, I never figured I'd wake up every morning to go wipe poo off of little birds' bottoms. So it has been interesting.
I'll post pictures if we can find our camera. (We just moved in last week.)
