This is based of the book series Gregor the overlander book series. There are around 10 different species that live in an underground world under new york city. ALL the creuters a larger and talk to humans They are all like tripes or kingdoms in the underlands. All speak English and then of course their animal's languages.

HUMANS

Humans have lived in the Underland for centuries in the dark. They have adapted where they have purple eye's most have white hair. They have enhanced hearing for they live in almost complete darkness except for the never burned out flames of their torches in their city regalia. there's a council and a queen. There are overlanders who are above ground and Come on on accident just like normal people they have flashlights and phones and stuff. They don't last long in the Underland without help.

FLIERS
Fliers are the Underland version of bats. In the Underland, they are about ten feet tall and have a wingspan of about twenty feet. They have fur in a variety of different colors: some appear in shades of black and brown, while others appear white or gold. There are even some orange ones and some with stripes. Fliers can maneuver better than an air force jet, making them a prized resource in wars. They have razor-sharp talons and teeth for striking, if in a life and death situation. Other than their size and coloration, they look like ordinary bats. They live under their queen Athena.

Bonding

When a flier bonds with a human, they are together forever. They promise that they will save their bond's life no matter what the circumstances. The punishment for forsaking a bond is banishment to be thrown into the Dead Lands alone and bound, which, in the Underland, means almost certain death. To bond with one another, the human and flier must recite a poem to their future bond, while holding hands in claws. A large feast signals the end of this ceremony. The poem goes like this:

The human says:

(Flier's name) the flier, I bond to you.

Our life and death are one, we two.

In dark, in flame, in war, in strife,

I save you as I save my life.

The flier says:

(Human's name) the human, I bond to you.

Our life and death are one, we two.

In dark, in flame, in war, in strife,

I save you as I save my life.

GNAWERS

Rats are known as gnawers because of their tendency to gnaw on hard objects to wear down their constantly-growing teeth. Their names seem to relate to how the rats operate in war or to their physical characteristics. Although it is implied that all Underland species can communicate with their relatives in the Overland, the rats are one of only two races to do so often. The rats' traditional territory in the Underland includes the Dead Land and Firelands, both low on food and safety. This, along with their natural predatory nature, has led them to factionalize and engage in many conflicts with other species. The gnawers listed below are organized according to Gregor's somewhat simplistic black-and-white categorizations in The Underland Chronicles. There king is ripred

CRAWLERS
cockroaches are referred to as crawlers in the Underland. Their names are derived from words pertaining to time. Very few members of other species are able to distinguish one crawler from another. Crawlers, along with gnawers, communicate with their Overland compatriots very readily. not really a leader but elders

Nibblers

Mice are called nibblers in the Underland. They are very fond of geometry, and give their children names related to mathematics.[5] Traditionally, they have been the human colonies' allies, which has complicated their relations with other species. Gnawers are openly hostile towards them, even embarking on a quest to exterminate the nibblers in the fourth novel. Mice are good fighters, but often choose not to resist the rats' moves against them because they perceive such attempts as pointlessly dangerous.

Spinners

Spiders are known as spinners. Their names seem to be related to weaving and to how they move; every (known) spider's name ends in the letters 'ox' or 'ex'. Their bodies are filled with a "strange blue liquid",[2] though it is unknown whether this is their blood or some other substance. They "speak" by rubbing their legs over their chests to produce a humming sound; like cricket chirps, but with deeper and more varied pitches.

The spinners are known to be reluctant to take sides in Underland politics, though their reasoning is unclear. They have a low tolerance for noise and useless chatter (which they associate with political discussion), but they are never openly hostile towards other creatures. In Gregor and the Code of Claw, the spiders use their semi-neutral status to their advantage by aiding both sides of the war between the humans and gnawers, and thus endearing themselves to whomever might win. They eventually choose to fight with their longtime trading partners the humans, and against the rats who attacked them during Gregor the Overlander. This change of sides is considered an unprecedented achievement for humans.

Hissers

Giant lizards that live in forests NOt much information on them but there are just like lizards in the overworld.

DIGERS
Giant moles that can dig insanely fast and great sense of smell

ANTS

Giant ants about the size of a dog, live in a colony.

The last two aren't really in the books but once in a while show not really much information.

Rats are split up, there is a king named ripped but only some follow him. most species hate rats. The kingdoms are at peace but The spinners never choose a side in war and rats fight for themselves and humans and fliers fight the others it's up to what they think.
