Grey Peacock Pheasant Chick Sexing

Picked up 2 GPP chicks and 3 RGP chicks. The GPPs are 3 weeks old. Can I identify which is a male or female yet? One is larger and has thicker longer legs than the other. But other then that they are the same right now.

They'ii look the same for a while.I bought a pair that was at least 9 months old,thought they were a pair and ended up being 2 males.You'll just have to wait and see.

The small one of the GPP chick is looking sick. It is sleeping and doesnt want to eat. I have been giving the a mix of starter and egg food. And mealworms 3 to four times a day. The other one is doing great. Do you recomend any meds to give it or are they too young?

They should get vitamins and electrolytes once a week.Put the chicks beak in their water supply and then dip it into the feed.Is it eating the mealworms?

Wasn't eating this morning. I had to hand feed it all day the meal worms. Kind of force fed it a couple every 3-4 hrs and water too. the water with a dropper to it. By tonight it actually ate 4 mealworms on its own. Which brings me to the question. How many meal worms can each chick eat a day? Is too many a bad thing?

I have a small dish with starter, egg food, and some finch seed with some grit sprinkled on top. Is that ok?

I would think 4 mealworms should be ok.Is it eating on it's own now?Everything else sounds right.

Yes she is doing better. She is eating on her own. I put her aside and give her first shot at the mealworms when I feed them. Then I put her back in and let them all get their shot.

She is still a bit weak but she drinks and eats on her own.

Would you give some kind of antibiotic like 4 in 1 or something like that?

Hahaha... Just re read theis and realized I call te chick a she. Guess its wishful thinking....
