grit for the babies

how should I give grit to my babies? We give them "candy" daily, So I've been sprinkling the grit in their food, or on the ground when their out playing in their play yard. should I offer it all the time in a seperate container?

If you are feeding chick starter there is grit in that but if they are eating other things then you can give extra. Doing a small dish of it so they can get it when they want is fine.

Please do not feed candy to chicks it is not good for them.

If i feed mine anything other then starter I give them some sand.
