GRIT - how do you feed them grit

My blue Orpington chicks are now almost seven weeks old. Anne and I have been feeding them greens from the garden for a couple of weeks. I've been putting grit from TSC in a small dog crock but they keep getting it dirty.
How and in what do you feed grit? Thanks

If they aren't eating it from the bowl then you could mix it in to their food. My bag of grit says to mix 1 pound of grit to 20 pounds of food.

I am no pro, but from what I have read, you offer it in a small type feeder like a quail feeder. If the bird needs it then it will take the grit, if not then nature will tell the bird so! I am not sure but nature does have its way!

There are little feeders that fasten to the wall, too. Not expensive, sometimes made of galvanized metal.
