grit

I was wondering if I could use cockatiel grit for my chicks. I have some laying around and was wondering if I could use it or if it would be fo fine.

What is in it? If it's just sand or ground granite or something, I don't see why not.

Yep, I used grit like that for my chicks (kinda sandy, with a few tiny little rocks?) They LOVE it like it's candy! Doesn't make sense to me, but when I poured some in an upside down tupperware lid, and set in the brooder, they all went after it until every grain of sand was GONE ...
