Grit

[chickens again]

When it is in the teens, or snowing or raining I confine my six girls to their shed (with their nice red heat lamp). My question is: do chickens need grit each time they eat, or only once in a while? Because they normally get grit from the soil but I don't give them anything when they are inside.

They only need grit if their eating anything other then their feed.
