Can I give my chickens parakeet grit instead of chicken grit? The local stores do not carry chicken grit which is annoying. My chickens are indoors for the season. Thanks!

sure...you could also use real course sand...or those little rocks you get for aquariums...not the funky colored ones...

I bought a bag of pea gravel from the local home depot, it has a few different sizes of pebbles and seem to work great. I found it in the garden section. I like the price, very cheap!
