Grit?

My chicks are two weeks old & I may start feeding them treats in 4 weeks. My local store has Grit on sale but has no chick Grit. I'm assuming the difference is the size between the two with chick grit much smaller. My question is can I use regular grit & somehow smash it up some & give it to my chicks?
