Gro-gel

I hatched some new chicks and was wondering if anyone has used gro-gel

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! I LOVE gro-gel it is so awesome! It helps keep them hydrated, so they usually put it in shipping boxes (my experience with McMurray) but it also seems to keep them really perky and healthy overall. I always put a little in their food dish so that they are drawn to it by the color. I use about 1/2 or 3/4 of it on the whole group, then save the rest for any sick ones.

It is AMAZING stuff, and you really can't go wrong with it. Good Luck with your chicks!

I thought it worked well for a quick pick me up after the long trip. The chicks seems to enjoy it as well. Teasing....

Seriously, they all went for it right out of the box. After about 7-8 hours though they had had enough and wanted real food. I still think it was good for them to get some quick energy. I also used the electrolytes for the water.

I would recommend as a first meal.
