Grocery Store Quail Egg Hatch

Is this the first grocery store quail egg hatch on BYC? I couldn't find any others.

Good luck! I've seen others post in the quail forum they've hatched store bought eggs.

So I bought some quail eggs from the grocery store yesterday and put them in the incubator today. The brand I got from was Biovida. They seem like they have been hatched before and one of the eggs I cracked open was fertile, so I am crossing my fingers. I am using a styrofoam hovabator that I have never hatched from before, but people I know have. The temperature is 99.5 F and the humidity is 30%. I am very excited and really hope I get some to hatch!

Oh interesting! If they are from the grocery store are they being sold for consumption? If so aren't they washed and don't have a bloom on them, right?

This is not quite true...washed eggs can be hatched.

I wash the eggs if they are dirty and quail eggs are often dirty!
