I found it to be a waste of money. My chicks walked all over it, but never ate any of it. They were too interested in their chick starter. As I took mine out of their shipping box, I dipped each chick's beak in the water and then sat them down IN the feeder tray. They took it from there.
If you have a weak chick, you can do a search here on BYC for the amounts of sugar water to give.
I believe all healthy chicks need is to be shown where their food and clean fresh water is.
