Grogel

I am going to get chicks soon and was considering getting gro-gel. How effective is it? How long do you feed it to them and do you need to give them additional food or water with it?

I used it with my most recent batch from Meyer. The bag said to mix it up and then remove any leftovers within 6 hours. I already had chick starter and water in the brooder, so just scattered some of the rehydrated Grogel on top of the paper towels around the feeder/waterer. They did eat it, but they also ate the starter quickly as well. I don't know if I needed it - most were happy and healthy, and the two that ended up dying were obviously not quite right from the beginning. Grogel wouldn't be able to fix that.
