I'm told I'm not allowed to do that; not even to the parents.Yes I would have given them a whipping with an allotment cane

I've been amazed at how much Mow and Sylph trust me and pleased that Glais has taken the view that if they trust him then I probably should to.
I think the little brats would be inedible even at their tender yearsI'm told I'm not allowed to do that; not even to the parents.
The clip around the ear-hole has it seems fallen out of favour along with eating the kids if the message doesn't get through from the clip.![]()

Would make a good caption competition picture. Some privacy please, bucket boy!

Today would have been Skeksis's 7th birthday. I miss her so much.

I have had bully hens chase a broody off her nest. I have several coops and move the bullyDealing with a double nest destruction this week with the free rangers, my broody hen was beaten up and dragged off her nest, so I gave her remaining eggs to the other broody in the nest below hers, she was also treated the same. Who did this? The roosters? Other hens? We're in a cold snap so did the poor conditions trigger it?
My third broody in the coop+run complex has been unbothered so I gave the last surviving egg to her in hopes it survived.
I will need to build some broody maternity suites/integration pens soon if I want my hens to be able to raise the next generation themselves. I suppose my run birds could raise them but it feels mean to take them from the relaxed safety of a secure run to put them out in the real world.
