I'm sure I'm not the only one out there but I have a dog that is obsessed with finding and eating the chicken poo left behind. She paces at the back door, and I'm thinking she has to pee or something. No she wants POO!!!!! It's getting to the point where I have to lock her up in her crate to keep her from pacing and whinning for the entire evening. I guess my bigger question is , is it ok for her? Will she get sick. Do I need to tell the Vet? How do I get her to stop!

All 3 of my dogs LOVE chicken, horse and cow poo!!!! As gross as it might be, you can't stop them. So far, none of them have gotten sick from it.

(Gotta agree with Rosalind about the biscuits:D)

My Hens don't have cocci or parasites my dog has been eating chicken poop in controlled amounts for around 9 months and she is fine she is on worm meds while the chickens are not

The only problem is she likes to lick me

Our 2 little dogs do that too. Well, they don't whine to go out just to eat it, but when they are in the yard, they eat it if they can get away with it. I think it's gross and I give them a breath strip if I catch them. We've had chickens over a year and they've never been sick from eating their poop.

My dogs were strays and I have to keep them out of all animals poop. Dog, cat, cow, etc. And sometimes they even roll around on the cow poop. They love cow poop!

I was told to give them vitamins and "good" dogfood (not the corn and meat meal), well they get both and plenty of other treats. They still eat poop every now and then. I think they just get a taste for it and then they don't want to stop. Gross, I know. I just yell at them, then pick the poop up.

My chicks are still in the brooder, so we will see what happens when the chicken poo is everywhere from free-ranging.
