Do you use a liner of any type on the wire? I use that rubbery/holey shelf liner. Then all you have to do is roll it up and throw it out (though it can be disinfected and used again). Not much cleanup after that!

around here intice you in to building a bator theeenn you have to try it out..... all the while they never tell you about the yucky stuff....

I put all the eggs into the cartons at lockdown, and hatch upright. It saves on most of the mess because the chicks leave their waste in the bottom part of the shell.
It also keep the chicks from booting around all the unhatched eggs and having them get all gunked up too.
