So I am moving my ducks into a new home as soon as it is finished with a pond and all. Im doing this for many reasons. However ducks are messy and most of us know this. So my "bird" area will be split into 2 parts one for chickens and one for ducks. There is alot of good info for ground cover for chickens but I haven't found any thing for ducks. My pen or area will be permanent and one the grass is all gone what can I or should I put down? I cannot have free range birds even though I wish I could, but to many coyotes and other predators not to mention my lab.....

Thanks

I use a combination of straw - away from the kiddie pool, and around the pool I had gravel for a while but am considering switching to sand.

I take the ducks for walks into vegetated areas daily, but their heavily used areas don't have much in the way of vegetation.

The straw with poop composts and attracts worms, so it gives them something to forage for.

You take them for walks? How does this work?
