Ground uneven will this be ok?

So the chicken run is on a hill.....highest part of the property actually so we shouldnt have any water issues ever! Question is, I've got what I can framed up without getting hubby involved to make graded cuts, is it ok if are 2 stretches where it gaps four inches and gradually meets the ground if I cover with hardware cloth and skirt out 2 feet and then cover the space with dirt on the outside? Plan for inside is 6-8 inches of deep litter to start and 3-4 more inches of space to gradually add as needed. My thoughts are this is fine but maybe there is something I'm not thinking about that would make this not a great idea.

What you describe doing should work.
Thank you! I figured it isnt much different than if I were to dig down and bury the skirt and then backfill....just saving myself the pain of digging first lol. Always nice to have a little reassurance though.

Absolutely. My gaps weren't that big but the concept is the same.
