Groundhog Chasing Hens

A groundhog has been chasing my hens for two days. This is weird because groundhogs are herbivores that never attack chickens. I wonder if the groundhog is trying to find the chicken food or chasing them away from his nesting area. ?

I would eat the groundhog. And I'm not kidding. They are like a Supreme roast beef if you cook them in a roasting bag.
Anyway, I wouldn't want to take a chance on him/her harming my chickens purposely or accidentally.
