We are a small farm located in Newfoundland Canada and have approx 50 chickens (R I REDS). The location is about 2 k from a large mink farm and this is our big problem - we have lost about 20 chickens this summer to mink that escape from the mink farm. Joined this site looking for ideas

Sorry for your losses, having the mink farm so close would make thing difficult (I take it you free range?). Here's a link to the predator articles in the Learning Center, maybe there are some tips you can use to help protect your flock:
Chicken Predators & Pests - How To Protect & Treat Your Flock

Best of luck to you!

Well that's a problem on your hands!
X2 with h2oratt, having a guard dog would help, but sometimes you have to be that guard dog. Do you know if they're killing at night? If so, you can add a blinking red light to the side of the coop, so that the mink may find it as a predator. But, they might get use to it. Hope you're allowed to kill those suckers on your property, if you do resort to that. :fl

Welcome from New Orleans, looks like you have been given a few ideas on how to rid yourself of your problem, sincerely hope you can work this out as it is heart breaking to keep having the same problem on a regular basis. I am sure others will have additional ideas as well. Pick the one that works best for you and go with it! Good luck.
