We are workin on the coop amd run. Want to add a fodder box in the run that is screened on top so when it grows up the girls will eat it but not be able scratch it all away. Their run is in mostly shade.... any ideas of good growin things for the box?

Mine are having a ball with plain shelled corn planted. The wire over it is 1"x1" 14 gauge so they can walk on it easy. The boxes are 4ftx4ft x 5 1/2". I was setting there watching them today----kinda made me think of bee's working a hive. Mine does get some sun during the day. Millet is good for hot weather planting but I am not sure about growing in the shade.
