Growing JUST for the birds???

I know I cannot be the only one here who loves their birds so much that dedicating some part of the garden just for them isn't unheard of or though at a waste.

What do you grow and why?

I grow New Zealand spinach because it gives their yolks a nice brighter orange.

Butter crunch lettuce and indian corn. (Whatever doesn't sell belongs to the birds )

I grow New Zealand spinach for mine, too! I am amazed that the stuff lives through 100+ heat. I have a chicken wire enclosure for it but they eat it through the wire every day.

My New Zealand spinach goes in salads right now...not enough to share.
The flock gets watermelon, cucumbers, peppers and squash chopped fine in a food processor.

Too funny! I just bought some comfry this morning because my dad told me chickens like it. I also bought lots of parsley seedlings to grow for my Guinea Pigs.... and for myself I bought...um... nuthin!

I'm thinkin' about growing a special garden for the girls, melon, cucumbers, spinach, etc.
