Mine have been on Nutreena Nature Wise Chick Starter. They will be switching to Nature Smart organic layer pellets after we finish this bag.
I had them vaccinated for Merricks and will do so again if I get chicks. So far I have been lucky.
I don't see anything wrong with using a medicated feed to start your chicks, and then switching to completely organic layer pellets. But I don't have meat birds and my eggs are only for my own use.
