Not sure if this should be posted here or not but yesterday I moved my chicks to a new enclosure (a large dog kennel). I had to do something after I came home and found one of my chicks sitting on top of the brooder (hope that's the right terminology).
Here is a view of were they where before my hubby came home. He decided we should put the galvanized tub that they were in, back in the kennel to reflect some heat.

If you have decided to use a heat lamp in lieu of a heating pad method, may I suggest that you use a red lamp or ceramic heat emitter? They are safer for your chicks.
Enjoy those fuzz babies! They are adorable! ❤️

My hubby says it is a high wattage day light bulb. It's one that we use for our reptile, if I am not mistaken.
They are doing great in this set up however so I think we are good :D
