Growling Chickens

Our chickens are 18 weeks old and we've noticed the past few weeks they growl when they see us, or anytime we are around. I don't feel like they're being aggressive, but I was wondering if anyone could help me decipher the growls. I took a video today.
I checked their feed and Stephanie came in making this noise: Growling Chickens

Is it a warning? Or is it just how they're communicating with us?

They are maturing and either laying or about to.

That sounds like the normal sounds chickens make when they see people. It's just to let the flock know you're there.

Yep, just chicken chatter. My girls do that every time we come out to the coop.

Mine do that too. When they started doing it last summer, I thought it was "growling" and therefore an angry noise. It's not.

Mine do that when they want to complain about something like not being let out when they want or get the treats they had asked for.

Look up some videos of chickens on youtube, you will be able to see the usual range of sounds to tell whether it's normal or not.
