Growth on comb... is this normal???

What you see here is a black growth on one of my Australorp's combs. I just noticed this today. Also, if it helps, they are molting. (That's why she is bald.) Is this normal? Help!

Looks as if one of her flockmates has pecked her comb, and it is in the process of healing.

Ok, thanks. I don't usually see the pecking each other though. Will it heal by itself?
