growth on eyes, does any body know what caused this. Its on 3 chicks. Could it be from tomatoes?

Could be pox from mosquito's, it will run it's course and they will be fine as long as it is not wet pox which will still run it's course, in a few weeks it will be gone as long as it does not end up being wet pox, thats another story but i have rarely seen wet pox in all the years i have been around birds.
It could also be ant bites.
I would just keep an eye on them and make sure they are eating and drinking ok.

poor baby.
Terrimycin Eye Ointment is good; however, it is hard to get due to being sold out and on backorder due to high demands right now.
Vetericyn Ophthalmic Gel is the alternative that is suggested.

Clean area with damp paper towel then apply. It does help.
I am using for Phoenix who is looking much much better now. Hope your baby gets well.

My babies have that too, but it isn't as big. I was thinking it was probably from mosquitos...Darn. Well they are doing well so I will just keep an eye on them. One of them is looking better the other still has a bit of swelling around the eye.

I would not use this unless there is an infection, antibiotics kill good germs as well as bad and should only be used when necessary, just my opion.
Have you ever put terramycin in your eye? that stuff burns like peroxide i know i tried it one time,
bad ju ju

anybody else have these problems. have a turkey that has them bad!! 3 peachicks with this size and a little bigger but the turkey is horrible

Pox are bad this time of year, you can vaccinate for it but you have to do it yearly and you get a 1000 dose bottle if i remember right, and it goes bad if not use all at once and last time i checked the shipping alone was 25 dollar cause it is a chilled vaccine sent overnight.

Just keep an eye on your Turkey and make sure it is able to see it's food it will take about 3 weeks to clear up after the last spot breaks out so it may look worse before it gets better

Also i learned that flys also cause pox, i saw it happen in my brooder one year, no mosquito's just flies and my chicks got a mild case of pox
