Someone please tell me what is happening to my chicks. What is this? I've had chickens and ducks for quite some time and never seen this. We went through dry pox a few years ago but nothing like this. I have a couple hens who tend to go and stay broody even after hatch. They just refuse to leave the nest and tend to their bitties. Ok fine.. I wind up taking care of the bitties in a brooder etc... The clutch is 4 ish weeks old and at 2 weeks I started noticing some little bumps on some of their beaks and combs. Thought is was ants so I moved them, took care of what ant if any were there getting them in the night. The growths/bumps have grown bigger and more developed them. A week ago I started loosing a chick sometimes 2 a day. Some have had watery eyes, weakness, lack of appetite so I started giving them chick vitamins in their water. Those who aren't sick are just as active as ever but those who are just slowly get worse. This doesnt look like pox wet or dry... please help. Thank you
