So I ordered my chicks over a week ago.. I went in Friday to ask when they thought they would send an order in because when I ordered they said it might take two weeks. So I asked and they said the lady that ordered them wasnt there and they couldnt tell me if they ordered my chicks or not because they didnt know where the papers were. So I heard it from them that all the chick orders were placed and that they would be in MOnday. So I wait...... The last time I got chicks they came in and they divided them and i was called within a half hour of them opening. But this was at the Smiths in the town south of us and I ordered north of us this year. So I called this morning to see if they knew if my order was placed and the lady on the phone was like well when did you order? I said well its been over a week but i dont know the exact day. she said she didnt know if they placed an order but she was in front and everybody else was in the back. So I asked well is there a way I can find out if mine were ordered and possibly coming in today and she said well she will call you...I am thinking...DUH. So I ask well if they come in today do you have a time frame? NO they come in whenever...

I am ordering from the other town next year. AT least they are nice and know what they are doing.

Good idea that's why I ordered from my local feed and seed because they know what their doing and patronize my nervous first chick mommy jitters I think I've called to make sure like 1000 times LOL!

Well I live between two towns that have feed stores.. it just seems that the store south of us is way more understanding. I want my chicks and I dont want them sitting in the store all day because they dont know when they normally come in and I leave town for the day. She wasnt even sure if they would be in today or tomorrow. I was just going to pick up ones in the store but they didnt have enough and didnt know when they were going to get more so I just ordered. They had broilers in with Buffs and those chicks are so simular you couldnt tell them apart.. I wanted to be sure I got what I wanted. Its just so frustrating.

No argument here I ordered because I wanted to make sure I got pullets and get what I want and I expect them to call me as soon as they get them so they don't get mixed with others it's a reasonable request! people will start coming in and just pick up whatever they want and set them down where ever.

Yeah I know what you mean. I saw a turkey in a section and somehow he had gotten out into the plastic they cover the sides of the wooden crates with and so I picked him up and put him back in.. well he got out again and the store guy picked him up. I said oh he keeps getting out cause your plastic isnt tight enough..he's like well he's in the wrong place this is a chicken. I looked at him and said are you sure cause he's awful big to be a chick with no feathers yet. He puts him in with the chicks in the next box..looks at them funny and said..maybe your right..he's awful big, then puts him back in the turkey part. He was the only one but come on really???? This chick looked like a 6 week old at least yet was obviously too young to be that because he was still fuzz. If you cant tell a turkey from a chick..your in trouble!
