Oblio, will it make you feel better to know that the majority of the money gets paid back to the city when we sell the house or refinance it? Does that make it ok for me to be upset at the contractor not calling or showing up for two days straight when they said they were going to? Just because something is free, are you supposed to let people walk all over you and treat you like crap? Glad to know that you are perfectly happy to pass judgement on people for asking that they get decent service.

Yes, I agree it is VERY frustrating when a co. tells you a time and doesn't show up or call.

And I like the changes you've made...opening up the kitchen, the new cabinets and counter tops, the new paint and the opening up of the wall in that room. It's very nice, thank you for sharing.

I completely understand where you're coming from. We are effectively rebuilding our house except for the foundation. It's an historic home but it was a pile of junk when we started. I can't tell you how many times contractors have just not shown up. I'll tell you what though, when the work is finished, it's such a relief.

We're getting our shingles replaced soon and I just dread it. The noise, the disruption, etc. Ugh. Good luck on the completion of your projects!
