I would like to tell you a tale about my grumpy gander Rusty. Mainly because nobody in my life really understands or cares for that matter.
He is such a beautiful white goose. And was a sweet boy up until a couple of months ago. We have worked out our issues, mainly me having to watch my back and I have found the humor in it. My fiance cannot even watch or listen to us argue. This morning was probably my favorite morning so far. I felt like I was fighting with a toddler having a tantrum. Our little game lately has been when I fill the pool and leave the hose in there to fill he comes and fights with the hose and takes it out of the pool. This is an on going thing , every day. I am trying to get things done and I swear he waits for me to walk away from the pool, climbs in and starts his honk growling and flings the hose all over the place. This goes on for 5 or so minutes. (maybe not, but it feels that way) I understand he probably sees this as a snake or threat of some sort. I like to think he is just trying to make my life interesting (complicated-tomato-tomAto-whatever) This morning I was filling the pool. He seems more grumpy in the mornings and this morning was no exception. Dropped the hose in the pool and kept an eye on him. I saw him nosing around the lilac bush spying me. I was chatting with him about usually stuff...the weather, his lady laying eggs, his nice clean pool he will have if he JUST LEFT THE ^$%^@#&$^#& HOSE ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I walked away and he went for the hose in the pool. He was growling, shaking the hose all over- not out of the pool yet. This went on for awhile...then the hose was out of the pool. He still had it and was running with it. I was getting sprayed, yelling at him to drop it and before I know it a game of tug of war broke out. He was growling and pulling-so was I. My fiance was unimpressed, followed by a WTF ARE YOU DOING?! Truly he doesn't understand- LOL! I was not going to let go of that hose!! He eventually dropped it and proceeded to honk SO LOUD and run away. I felt victorious! He cracks me up!
I never realized how strong they are either...I had a half a gallon bucket in their other pool- he lifted that bucket FULL of water out of the pool and launched it out of the pool. This is after he was power lifting it, growling and having a hissy fit- on the plus side, he left the hose alone while b$tch fitting the bucket.
Rusty is certainly something special.
