That's terrible! If neighbors complain and you get too many citations you have to get rid of your dog!
What if people talk to loud on their porch or they're kids make too much noice yelling and screaming while playing. I guess they need to go too?

It is terrible. At least here if someone is harassing the dogs to make them keep barking there is legal action the animal owners can take.

Pretty sure my neighbors understand that we should be left alone.....there are a few Harleys here with very very loud pipes.....and nothing saying I cannot run those in my driveway.....

Our rules are that the coop must be 10 or more feet off the property line and must not be closer to your neighbors home than it is to your home

This is all really helpful. And the point about the loud dog -- the other neighbor that we both share a fence with (I'm on a corner lot) has a dog that bays VERY loudly several times/day. Chickens would definitely be quieter than that.

Honestly, as I said, she's really just pissed about the tree removal -- they were dead, but still. I'm thinking I could stack some hay bales to muffle the sound as a peace gesture, and plant some trees to replace the old ones.

They're really only out on the patio (the closest area) in the evenings, and the chickens will be happily asleep in the coop then.

Either way, I think I'll let things die down a little bit before moving forward.

I have only had a few hens that were noisy and have raised over 200 chickens. They can sometimes when laying eggs but usually for me it’s just the males. Maybe it’s cause I have roosters, I don’t know. Any chicken I have that is too loud goes to freezer camp.

As a neighbor to noisy hens, I appreciate you coming on the site to sound things out first. Our neighbors are trying to do it right but their hens are extremely loud, start at 530AM and it would be easier to count the time they aren't making noise than vice versa (it is much more than typical and acute neighborhood noises). I am trying to figure out how to discuss this with them without alienating them. I would recommend you continue on your tract to find noise buffering solutions, create good practices with the hens so they aren't squawking in frustration or from odd expectations, and be prepared that if you get an atypical (?) Noisy when that it should be rehomed out of respect for your neighbors. Please disregard those that say do what ever you want since it it your yard and listen to those who are empathetic to both sides. I hope it goes well for you and please keep being a respectful neighbor.
