grumpy rooster

It seems every morning when I let my flock out of their coop my rooster chases the hens around and not in a nice or amorous way. Why is he so grumpy? Is it cause hes cooped up all night with a bunch of women..haha. Just wondering if anyone out there knows why..

He wants to mate or boss her around and then mate. They do that first thing in the morning.
