Hi,
I'm new to BYCI. I've had chickens for just under a year now. It really is an addictive hobby. I especially love the eggs. Now I am trying to incorporate hatchings into my genetics classes. Its really hard getting hatching eggs this time of year. But I managed to get 6 fertile ones from my girls. I'm anxious as Feb 3rd is the supposed hatch date, but not sure if they are as far along as they should be. Most are brown eggs and candling is not clear. I also have some EE eggs that I can't seem to tell if they are fertile or not. So many questions so little time. I have been following the forums for some time, but never joined. Looking forward for all the help and advice from the experienced chicken farmers.

Feel free to search for the January/February hatch-a-long for lots of good tips and moral support when it comes to hatching. EE eggs can be tricky because of their darker color...you need a really BRIGHT light. So glad you finally decided to join us!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with your hatch!
