My cat drag a little chick into the house and I took it from her and now Im raising it. I started reading about chickens and I got into chicken coops and now I'm building for guachu (the rooster) and probably two or three girlfriends a coop.
I wanted to do a cheap and simple design but I think I maybe I took some bad decisions.
Is not finish but this are the first pictures of it:
this is the frame of all. Height 3.3 feet (1 meter), width 4.9 feet (1.5 meters) and 6.6 feet (2 meters) long
I used 1 inch pine sticks.
And here yo can see where I will build the nesting boxes out of pvc sheets.
Here are the divisions These are 1 x 1 feet aprox (a litle bit big)
Now I will finish this this weekend. The roost stick will be in front of the nesting boxes a litle bit above (I just read that they like the roost in high places and higher from the nesting boxes so they dont roost in the nesting boxes, if I new that I would have made the nesting boxes lower but you live and you learn). I will put a Ladder so they can climb into the roost and jump into the nesting boxes.
So I will update this next week and I wanted to know what you think and if you think I could fit 4 birds in there (one rooster and 3 hens) also this will be in the back of my house. the place you see is the front of the house and I built it there because of the concrete floor. Is easy and clean for me to build it there.
Cheers!
