DH just went on a call. Man was cleaning his Smith and Wesson 44 Magnum....loaded.
Man no longer has a knee.
That'll teach him.
I can't believe someone would believe that it's safe to clean a loaded gun.

DH says he thinks the guy will be fine. There was little blood. He will need his kneecap replaced.

Ditto here, we're all human and we all make mistakes. Some mistakes are unfortunately worse than others but they're still mistakes none the less.

Yep.
Guns are not something you can't afford to make mistakes with. There are 30+ guns in this house. Two of them I will handle - my own shotgun and the 22 rifle, because I've been taught proper handling of them. The others I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft. pole. I don't know enough about them to know I am absolutely safe with them.
