Well folks, I have been digging through a TON of municipal code lately and come across some pretty weird laws.
(THANK YOU everyone who has participated in the Chicken LORE Project!)
Anywhoo--this one stands out to me. It seems like a no brainer, (my kids will certainly put anything into their mouths), but it must have been an issue at some point if they made it into a law...
Daycare Facilities:
Animals or poultry: Animals or poultry must be properly immunized, disease free , and create no safety or health hazard. Pets and animals shall not be allowed loose in the playground. All pets, animals, and poultry must be in crates, cages, pens, or on leashes and be isolated in such a manner they are not able to be reached by children. However, domesticated pets and animals may be touched or handled by the children under the direct supervision of an adult. Reptiles & amphibians shall not be handled by children.
