Now, what fun would it be if I showed you the adults?
Well, since I am going to be off from here for a couple of weeks, I will post the adults:
This is a female and as a chick is more of the chocolatey brown. (Yes, they are auto sexed birds)
And this is the male who, as a chick, was the more yellow of the two:
And since I won't be back for a while, the are Norwegian Jaerhons. A pretty cool breed if you never want to catch them, they are the flightiest birds I have ever owned, and I no longer have these because of that and I had too many breeds to try keeping them all separate for pure breeding the flock. I may try them again in the future though because they are excellent for cold winter climates and lay LARGE white eggs all year along.
Wow, I never would've guessed that!! My next guess was going to be Egyptian Fayoumi, but that's nowhere near Sweden. I love the Crele color, it's my favorite! I wonder if they could be tame if you worked with all the time, because they sound awesome! How are they compared to leghorns or anconas in laying? I didn't know they were crele!!
They don't go by Crele, but there is one variety of them that is called Flame and it is more Black and Red in the coloration. Apparently they are better than the Leghorns because they will lay better longer, I believe. I sold mine shortly after they were laying. A woman across town raises them and she just loves them.
