We actually had to spell words around our old dog, Trouble. He was a Chow/Doby mix and very smart, and sweet and fun.
We would take him out to an old golf course that was closed and play frisbee with him. He LOVED that! So, if we were actually going golfing, he would hear the word and run to the back door.
I love my Poodles, but I sure miss having him, he was just awesome.
I have to find some pictures to show you. He had a partially black tongue too. His sister looked like a black and gray Lab with the half and half tongue. She, was a psycho dog, jealous of everything that wasn't about her, and even had Trouble down by the throat for the death chomp one day. She went back to the humane society after that. I believe she was put down but they wouldn't tell me anything. I don't think she was a dog that was trustworthy around children either, though we never had any then. It is just amazing how litter mates can be so opposite, she got all the bad and he got all the good.
