Tata is very lovely! So, is that pup you posted, Quail! What is it part White GSD? Very pretty.

I am sorry I got behind, it has been a not so great day, but it ended on a good note. I try to caponize 8 cockerels, and I had a great turn-out, 5 of them are still alive and doing great! That is my best batch yet! Isn't that exciting? How many of your girlfriends castrate chickens? I must be nuts.

Minnie, I've never caponized cockerels. Thought about it... but didn't have the guts to then. When I get some Cornish next I might give it a try.

Oh! I must tell you girls! I went to a bbq last night and one of the girls was puppy sitting.... she'd brought a Sheltie... and a Springer Spaniel!

She was so super sweet!!!

Well, a good Cornish, you shouldn't have to caponize, they are the meat bird of all the birds. I don't mean those nasty stink monster CRXs either. I just had a young Cornish cockerel who was getting a little too big for his britches processed and he dressed at 6#. He looks like a small turkey in the freezer! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
I am doing my extra cockerels. Last night I did 3 Welsummers, an Easter Egger and an Black Ameraucana.
