The first one looks like a Curly Coated retriever, but the photo is really small so I'm not sure. The other possibility is an Irish Water spaniel.

The 2nd is a Labrador Retriever (aka Lavatory Deceiver). Some people insist on calling it a Chocolate Labrador, but that's the color, not the breed name.

The first is spot on with a curly.
The second is incorrect. People who own these dogs can tell the diff by they eye and ear set without seeing their body. Not a common breed.

LOL my hubby and I just made the name Bordrador Colliever for our border collie/ bl Labrador. Those names are always fun!

The photo is straight on, so you can't see the body coat. I cannot tell you how many pet quality Labs have that ear set. So, it's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever? That's a mighty coarse head for a Chessie.

Yes, sorry, just wanted to make it a little harder. I just found this pic on a Chesapeake site.

Hey Cluckin,

No problem. It's just frustrating when we can't see enough of the dog to make a determination. Chessie's are supposed to be higher in the rear quarters than in the shoulders - it's a hallmark of the breed, as is that double, wavy coat. Of course, they're supposed to have amber eyes, which the dog you posted does. Problem is, a lot of chocolate Labs have lighter eyes than called for in their standard, so that dog was just really hard to evaluate.
