Agreed. It's the only thing I hate about Great Danes. I know they won't be with me for very long but I think the love they give is more than worth it.

Isn't that terrible? Big dogs become such close members of the family (more so than little dogs imo), yet they live the shortest. My family would love a Irish Wolfhound but the short lifespan isn't something we could handle.

Some large breeds dogs have longer life span than you might expect Newfoundlands can often live over 10 years, I have many friends who have had dogs live to 14 years. My Newfie passed away about a. Month ago and I had 12 wonderful years with him miss that big guy.

I LOVE Newfies, but I don't think I could stand the drool.
