Okay, I'm totally confused, 'cause if that walked through the door of the animal shelter I'd say he was a border collie... which isn't much of a mystery breed!
Was there another picture of the breed I missed?

Nope not a english shepherd.
And no it is not a border collie.

No there was not another pic its a pic of a purebred dog was pedigreed and everything but it is an early example of the breed you are trying to guess. good luck!
