Aussies are never brindle, and Border Collies almost never.... if she's straight herding dog mix, I'd be inclined to guess Dutch Shepherd crossed with Border Collie or Australian Shepherd.

I should have said this earlier, but I kept forgetting. She was a shelter dog and they didn't know her breed, but I am 98% sure we guessed right. And, no, wrong cross! Good guess, though.
